Box Score PORTLAND, ME - The first men's lacrosse game in Saint Joseph's
College history was played on Monday afternoon at Fitzpatrick
Stadium in Portland, ME against the University of Southern Maine
Huskies. FY Kody Peckham (West
Gardiner, ME) scored two goals and SR Tyler
Arsenault (Kennebunk, ME) and JR
Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH)
each tallied a goal in the loss.
Peckham scored the first goal in program history
with 1:15 remaining in the second quarter.
Senior goalie Brendan Dyer (New
Gloucester, Maine/St. Dominic) had 12 saves in the first three
quarters while junior Nick Hannon
(Windham, Maine) made two stops in the final quarter. Defender SO
Lucas Ward (Raymond, ME)
collected three ground balls in the contest.
For Southern Maine, SR Matt Soule (Denmark, ME) scored 5 goals and
JR Lee Gauthier (Berwick, ME) and SO Alex Pleau (Lewiston, ME) each
netted 4 goals. JR Preston Gilbert (Saco, ME) tallied a goal and 4
assists and junior goalie James Suriyodorn (Deer Park, N.Y.) made
seven saves in the Huskies victory.
The Monks will play at Salem State on Wednesday, 3/12 at 6:00 PM.
