EAST BOSTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (9-8, 1-1 GNAC) split a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader at Suffolk University (15-5, 1-1 GNAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Rams tipped the Monks, 6-3, in the opener and St. Joe's responded by salvaging the split with a 10-0 nightcap victory.

GAME ONE – Suffolk 6, Saint Joseph's 3

SJC HIGHLIGHTS

• Senior catcher Nic Lops (South Portland, Maine/ Cheverus) was 2-3 wit ha double and three RBI
• Freshman second baseman Joey Murphy (Derry, N.H.) went 2-4 with a run and a triple
• Junior Jameson Collins (Sandown, N.H.) added two hits in three plate appearances

PITCHER OF RECORD

Sophomore Josh Partridge (Deerfield, N.H.) suffered his first loss of the season after allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and four walks with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings. Sophomore Marc Poirier (Lunenburg, Mass.) allowed a hit in 1/3 inning of relief and senior Corey McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) fanned the only batter he faced in the bottom of the sixth.

KEY PLAYS

• The Monks struck first with a run off two hits in the top of the first, when Murphy tripled and scored on a two-out single by Lops
• Saint Joseph's claimed a 3-2 lead in the top of the third when Lops plated a pair with a double to deep center field
• The Rams tied the game at 3-3 with a run off an error in the bottom of the fifth when freshman Jake Frasca (Darien, Conn.) launched a two-run homer and the hosts tacked on an insurance run on a Rob Marks (Revere, Mass.) double

• Senior left fielder Taylor Reuillard (Biddeford, Maine) went 3-4 with a pair of runs
• Lops was 1-3 with two runs and a two-run homer
• Junior right fielder Dennis Meehan (Gardiner, Maine) went 3-3 with a run and two RBI
• Junior shortstop Max McCoomb (South Berwick, Maine) added two runs, two hits, and a stolen base in three at-bats
• Freshman Anthony DiPrizio (Rochester, N.H.) went 2-4 with an RBI
• Junior third baseman Taylor Black (Cardiff by the Sea, Calif.) reached base four times – a single, two walks, and hit by pitch – and knocked in a run

PITCHER OF RECORD

Freshman Grayson Jennings (Bedford, N.H.) improves to 2-1 on the season after scattering three hits with four walks and four K's over four innings while senior Riley Cox (Westford, Mass.) tossed three frames of one-hit ball with a strikeout to earn his first save of the season.

KEY PLAYS

• Leading 1-0, the Monks scored three runs off five hits in the top of the third, with Lops hitting his second homer of the season – a two-run blast – and DiPrizio singling home a run
• Everything fell apart for the Rams in the top of the fourth, when Saint Joseph's scored six runs off six hits and a pair of Suffolk errors en route to claiming a 9-0 advantage with the help of a two-run single from Barbati
• In the fourth, Meehan came up with the bases loaded and, after the dust settled, four runs would score on a single, as Barbati and Collins scored on the hit and McCoomb and Meehan came around on an outfield error to cap the game scoring
