Monks Fall to Raiders 76-66

STANDISH, Maine – Rivier University (7-11, 3-8 GNAC) defeated Saint Joseph's College (5-14, 4-7 GNAC), 76-66, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball contest on Mike McDevitt Court at the Harold Alfond Center on Tuesday evening.

STATS OF THE GAME:

While both teams shot 60% from the free throw line, the Monks went to the stripe just five times while the Raiders had 35 attempts with 21 conversions…Rivier held a 30-18 lead in points in the paint…Saint Joseph's broke the program's single-game three-point attempts record with 47 heaves from downtown in tonight's setback.

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Junior forward Drew Shea (Mount Desert Island, Maine) registered 13 points and seven rebounds
  • Freshman guard Teagan Hynes (York, Maine) scored 13 points with four boards
  • Senior guard Griffin Foley (Portland, Maine) added 12 points, six caroms, and six assists
  • Freshman guard Julian Llopiz (Boston, Mass.) came off the bench to tally nine points and seven rebounds

LEADERS – RIVIER:

  • Senior forward Miles Gillette (Washington, D.C.) recorded a double-double with 32 points and 16 rebounds
  • Junior center Nesta Roberts (Manchester, Conn.) netted 12 points with seven boards in 14 minutes off the bench
  • Junior guard Nikolas Pignone (Stoneham, Mass.) added 10 points
