STANDISH, Maine – Junior Aaliyah Wilson-Falcone (Winthrop, Maine) tallied two goals and an assist to help Saint Joseph's College (4-4-0, 4-0-0 GNAC) defeat Norwich University (2-5-1, 0-3-1 GNAC), 4-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer match at the SJC Athletics Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The Monks have now won three-consecutive games – all conference victories – and outscored their last three foes by a combined 11-0 margin.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Monks clanged a pair of shots off the goal frame early, as Wilson-Falcone hit the left post at the 7:29 mark and a free kick by freshman Paige Sawyer (Ellsworth, Maine) rattled off the crossbar 20 minutes later. The hosts proceeded to break the match open with two goals in a matter of 28 seconds, as Wilson-Falcone assisted on Lelia Weir's (Bar Harbor, Maine) first NCAA marker 28:10 into play and added her third tally on a Madison Michaud (Presque Isle, Maine) feed at the 28:38 mark.

Wilson-Falcone hit pay dirt again 2:29 into the second half and freshman Eliese Perron (South Portland, Maine) tacked on her first collegiate goal in the 84th minute to account for the 4-0 final.

TEAM STATS:

Saint Joseph's held the lead in shots (34-6), shots on goal (18-6), and corner kicks (9-2) in the conference victory.

THE KEEPERS:

SJC junior starter Carly Downey (Yarmouth, Maine) made five saves in 57:28 between the posts and first-year Manuela Mejia (Winthrop, Mass.) rejected the only shot she faced in 32:32 of relief duty. Norwich sophomore netminder Rebecca Karis (Fayetteville, N.C.) made 14 saves in the loss.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:

With the triumph, Saint Joseph's improves to 11-2-5 all-time against Norwich University and extends an undefeated streak versus the Cadets to 11 games. The Monks' last loss to the Cadets: a 1-0 setback in Northfield on October 16th, 2010.
