WINTHROP. Mass. – After finishing fifth in the regular season standings, the St. Joseph's College field hockey team saw several players receive recognition in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) postseason honors, as announced by the league office.
Senior forward Abbie Jacques (Mount Vernon, ME) was voted All-GNAC Second Team after finishing the season with 10 goals and four assists for 24 total points. Jaques started in all 21 games for the Monks. She was voted GNAC Player of the Week Honor Roll accolades on 10/13/24 after recording a season-high four goals in the match against Albertus Magnus.
Senior goalkeeper Kassidy Collins (Gardener, ME) was voted All-GNAC Third Team, as she played a significant role within the Monks defense. Collins started all 21 games she appeared in while finishing the season with a79.4 save percentage and seven wins this season. Collins received GNAC Weekly Honor Roll accolades the weeks of 9/08/24, 9/22/24, 9/29/24, 10/13/24, and 10/27/24. Collins was also named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team.
Freshman defender Sydney Lacombe (Mechanic Falls, ME) was voted All-GNAC Third Team. Lacombe started in 14 of the 19 matches she appeared in. Lacombe was a key contributor on the Monks defense. In the September 7th game against Wellesley, Lacombe made a defensive save for the Monks in the game against Wellesley.
Senior defender Audra Gearin (Salisbury, Mass.) has been selected to the GNAC Women's Field Hockey All-Sportsmanship Team.
Junior midfielder Sadie Tirell (Naples, Maine) was named to the GNAC Field Hockey All-Tournament Team. The St. Joseph's College women's field hockey team completed the 2024 season with 10-11 overall record, including a 7-5 mark within the GNAC.
