STANDISH, Maine-Saint Joseph's College (12-14,8-4) showed resilience but ultimately fell to Simmons (10-13,8-3) 2-3 (25-19, 25-19, 18-25, 21-25, 15-17) in a
Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) midweek match on Wednesday night.
After opening the match with a 25-19 first and second set triumph, the Monks endured a 25-18 and 25-21 set losses forcing a deciding fifth set with a 15-17 loss in the fourth.

Saint Joseph's held the lead in blocks (5-4). The Sharks led in kills (53-42), aces (8-7), (50-38), and digs (81-63).

- Sophomore Greta Mackintosh (Plymouth, MA) recorded 11 kills and two blocks
- Junior Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) posted nine kills, two aces, three asssts, and 14 digs
