STANDISH, ME-The Saint Joseph's College Monks Men's Soccer team hosted the Rivier University Raiders for
a GNAC match-up on Wednesday evening in Standish. This is the first match-up between the
Monks and the Raiders since Jon Cross, the former Monks Assistant Coach, took over the Head
Coach position for the Raiders.
The Monks came out on fire and just 2:58 into the game, Senior Forward
Rion Dos Santos put
one past the Raiders goaltender, Logan Clough, to set the pace for the rest of the match. The
assists belonged to Sophomore
Diego Robinson and Junior Joey Perron. At 69:26, Rion Dos
Santos scored his second goal of the match, from Junior
Hayes Sweeney, to put the Monks up
2-0. Dos Santos recorded 4 shots on net. The Monks Senior Goaltender
Liam Foley was not
tested often. The Raiders recorded 2 shots, neither were on the net.
For the Raiders, Luiggi Ferreira, Cody Sicard, and Jason Harlow received a yellow card. And for
the Monks,
Gus Ford and Joey Perron each received a yellow card.

The Monks will play their next match against the Colby-Sawyer Chargers on Saturday,
September 28th, at 12 pm in New London, New Hampshire.
