Saint Joseph's College of Maine

In 2009 Andy will serve as a captain and provide leadership forthe St. Joe's pitching staff.

Andy arrived at Saint Joseph's College after a fine career at MountDesert Island High School where he played for Mike Clark. Anoutstanding right handed pitcher Andy led his high school team tothe Eastern Maine Class B Championship and an appearance in thestate title game at Larry Mahaney Diamond on the campus of SaintJoseph's College. Andy possesses a good fastball, which iscomplimented by a nice breaking ball that he can throw forstrikes.

As a freshman at Saint Joseph's College, Andy pitched well but hadlimited appearances. As a sophomore Andy came to the forefront asone of the Monks top relievers. He led the team with 17 appearancesand boasted a 2-0 record and a 3.09 era. As a junior Andy neverreally got on track as his ERA shot up to 5.94. Look for Andy torebound and anchor the Monks relief corps in 2008.

Andy is the son of Bob & Jane Pooler of Southwest Harbor,Maine.
