Biography

2024-25: Played in all nine games...averaged 5.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game...third on the team in rebounds per game and tied for third on the team in steals (10)...also recorded 18 assists...tallied nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in the season opener vs. Bridgewater State (Nov. 8)...recorded a career-high 20 points and 11 rebounds vs. WestConn (Nov. 16)...career-high five assists and three steals along with seven points and three rebounds vs. Husson (Nov. 23)

Why Saint Joseph's? Saint Joseph's had the program I was looking for, which is Physical Education. I really like the hands on education that the college offers along with the great location in Maine. I also felt very welcomed by the Saint Joseph's basketball program and community.

High School: Played basketball and baseball for four years at Johnston Senior High School…Earned All-State honors as a senior and All-Division accolades following his sophomore and junior seasons…Led his team to a Division 2 State Championship and was named as the Championship Game MVP as a senior…1,000-point scorer…Claimed All-Division honors his junior and senior years as a baseball standout…Ranked 10th academically in his senior class, listed on the High Honor Roll all four years, and member of the National Honor Society.

Community Service: SADD, Student Council, Food Drives, Park Cleanups, and Unified Basketball Helper.

Personal: Derek James Salvatore, son of Rachel and Daniel Salvatore…Has one sibling, Justin Salvatore.
