Box Score STANDISH, Maine — The Saint Joseph's College women's basketball team earned a 67-54 victory over Husson University (0-5) on Saturday afternoon, improving their record to 3-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks jumped out to an early 15-8 lead in the first quarter and maintained control in the second, outscoring the Eagles 12-11 to take a 27-19 advantage into the break.
After halftime, Saint Joseph's continued to build on their lead, scoring 24 points in the third quarter while limiting Husson to 18. This strong offensive showing extended the Monks' lead heading into the final period.
Husson made a late push in the fourth, outscoring Saint Joseph's 17-16 in the final 10 minutes, but the Monks' solid performance in the first and third quarters was enough to secure the 67-54 win.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Junior Grace Ramsdell (Wells, ME) led the Monks with a game-high of 21 points, shooting 4-6 on threes, notching 7 rebounds and a steal
- Graduate Student Angelica Hurley (Groveland, MA) contributed 13 points, a game -high of 11 rebounds, six asists, and three steals
- Sophomore Maddie Russell (Oakfield, ME) added 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal
- Junior Elisabeth Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) added six points with five rebounds
- Junior Madison Lebel (Hermon, ME) chipped in with seven points and five rebounds while junior Logan Brown (Brunswick, ME) added nine points, four rebounds, and a steal
LEADERS – HUSSON:
- Alyssa Harris led Husson with 14 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
- Lauren Cook contributed 12 points
- Alana Seward scored 10 points and had three steals
