The Monks kicked off the scoring with a run off two hits in the top of the first, when sophomore catcher Chantelle Bouchard (Biddeford, Maine) singled and later scored on a Sylvia Foley (Scarborough, Maine) double to left-center.

St. Joe's added an insurance run in the top of the sixth when freshman Kryslin Stearns (Concord, N.H.) singled and was removed in favor of pinch-runner Casey Carter (Bangor, Maine), who later scored on a two-out single up the middle off the bat of junior Paige Connery (Tyngsboro, Mass.)

The Warriors scored four runs on two hits, three walks, and a pair of hit batsmen in the top of the first and never looked back, plating at least one run in each of the following four frames to pick up the mercy-rule triumph.

The Monks scored their lone run in the bottom of the second when Foley led off with a single and later raced home on a Abby Carpenter (Bath, Maine) base hit.

SJC sophomore starter Miranda Northrup (Whitefield, Maine) took the loss after yielding five runs on three hits and four walks in one inning of work.
