STANDISH, ME - Sophomore Megan
Farrell (Abington, MA) returned to the line-up after
missing the last contest due to an injury and led the Monks to a
59-52 win over Lasell College. Farrell matched her season best of
15 points and added 5 boards.
The first half was marked by 5 lead changes and
three ties with St. Joe's (7-7) holding a 28-22 lead going into the
break.
The Lasers (6-6) came out strong in the second half
and tied the game at 43 on a three pointer by junior Courtney Duffy
(South Boston, MA). Sophomore Yoandree
Pierre-Jacques (Providence, RI) put the Monks up 45-43
with a jumper at 9:32 and St. Joe's would keep the lead for the
remainder of the game.
Lasell challenged again at 3:25 as two free throws
by junior Lauren Picozzi (Coventry, RI) brought the Lasers to
within two. A perfectly executed Rauscher/Pierre-Jacques pick and
roll with 1:36 to play gave the Monks the cushion they needed to
seal the victory.

game-high 19 points and had 5 assists while senior Mandi Rapisardi
(Scarborough, ME) recorded 8 points and 7 boards in 36 minutes of

out a game-high 8 assists while Pierre-Jacques finished just shy of
a double/double with 10 boards, 9 points and 3 blocked shots.
