STANDISH, MAINE - Saint Joseph's College women's basketball
improved to 4-6 with a 68-52 victory over visiting Thomas College.
Junior captain Kaylin Regula (Windham, ME) led the
Monks with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Senior
Brittany Rauscher (Oakland, ME) chipped in with 11
points, 3 assists and 3 steals while first year Sasha
Bowen (Boston, MA) contributed 9 points and 2 assists.
St. Joe's held a 40-26 lead at the half and the bench came
alive, scoring 26 points including 7 points, 4 rebounds from first
year Alysn Ludwig (Waldoboro, ME) and 8 points, 7
rebounds from sophomore Yoandree Pierre-Jacques
(Providence, RI).
Thomas center Lea McNary (Marlborough, CT) led all scorers with
a 20-point, 12-rebound performance while Kim Drosdik (Farmington,
ME) had 10 points for the Terriers (4-5).
St. Joe's senior Danielle Somma (Gray, ME) had
6 points and 5 rebounds and first-year Mallory
Clark (Ipswich, MA) chipped in with 4 points.
The Monks travel to Poultney, Vermont, to compete in the Green
Mountain Tournament on 1/12.
