Newton, MA - The young Monk squad competed in their first GNAC Tri-match of the season and picked up a pair of losses on Saturday at Mount Ida College.

St. Joe's fell 3-0 (30-18, 30-17, 30-14) to host Mount Ida in the first match of the day. SO Monique Lajoie (Nashua, NH) led the Monks with six kills, seven assists and two digs. FY Rachel Bassett (Narragansett, RI) had four kills, one service ace and three digs while SO Marcie Gowan (Plymouth, NH) had seven assists.

The troubles continued in the second match as St. Joe's lost 3-0 (30-11, 30-12, 30-18) to Johnson & Wales. Lajoie (5 kills, 4 digs) and Gowen (4 assists, 4 digs) provided the only bright spot for the Monks.

St. Joe's hosts Lesley University on Tuesday, September 18th at 7:30 PM.
