Box Score WESTON, Mass. – Regis College (7-1) posted a 15-0 run over the final six minutes to erase an eight-point deficit and defeat Saint Joseph's College (8-3), 65-58, in a non-conference women's basketball contest on Saturday afternoon. Freshman guard Kelsi McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) netted a game-high 22 points in the loss.
THE LEAD
In a contest that featured 13 lead changes and seven tie scores, the Monks held a 58-50 advantage after sophomore guard Emily Quirion (Augusta, Maine) connected on a free throw with 6:03 left in the fourth quarter. As it played out, the freebie would be the last point scored in the contest for the Monks while the Pride, with the help of an 11-12 free-throw shooting effort, countered with a 15-0 run to claim the program's seventh-consecutive victory.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S
- Freshman forward Emily Benway (Rochester, N.H.) tallied 13 points
- Senior center Morgan Cahill (Yarmouth, Maine) added nine points, seven rebounds and two assists
- Quirion chipped in with five points and a pair of assists
- Junior guard Abbie Eastman (Norway, Maine) pulled down five rebounds
- Freshmen Julia Champagne (Brunswick, Maine) and Hannah Marks (Waldoboro, Maine) came off the bench to tally six points and seven rebounds, collectively

- Sophomore forward Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) registered 20 points off a 14-15 free-throw shooting performance with eight caroms
- Junior forward Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) contributed 14 points with seven boards
- Sophomore guard Shannon Hayes (Billerica, Mass.) tallied 10 points, four rebounds and a pair of assists
- The Pride received major help on the glass from three players off bench, as Linsay Burmila (Raynham, Mass.), Brandi Bonneau (Derry, N.H.) and Miah Andrews (Milton, Mass.) combined to pull down 19 boards in the victory

Regis recorded the most free throws made (28) and attempted (31) by a Saint Joseph's opponent since Emmanuel College converted 33 of 39 bids from the stripe in an 89-82 win over St. Joe's on January 19th, 2009

Saint Joseph's shot 30% (21-70) from the floor, 21.1% (4-19) from three-point distance and 70.6% (12-17) from the free throw line while Regis countered with percentages of 33.3% (18-54), 12.5% (1-8) and 90.3% (28-31) from the field, beyond the arc and the charity stripe on the afternoon.
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING
Today's contest counted as the first meeting between the New England Region women's basketball programs. Regis has advanced to the NCAA DIII National Tournament in each of the last three seasons with a trio of New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) titles and a 68-16 (.810) cumulative record – including a perfect 54-0 mark in NECC play – during this span.
