Box Score STANDISH, Maine – Four players posted double-digit point totals to help lift Saint Joseph's College (5-1, 2-0 GNAC) past Albertus Magnus College (4-4, 1-1 GNAC), 70-54, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's basketball action at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Clinging to a 33-29 lead after two uneven quarters of play, the Monks opened the third frame with a 17-2 run, which was capped by a Kelsi McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) three pointer and the hosts securely in the lead, 50-31, with 3:24 left in the penultimate stanza. The Falcons showed signs of life in the fourth quarter with junior Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.) scoring eight of her team-high 15 points, but failed to overcome the Monks' third-quarter performance.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- McNamara led all players with 16 points while doling out five assists
- Senior Abbie Eastman (Norway, Maine) tallied 12 points, five assists and three rebounds
- Sophomore Hannah Marks (Waldoboro, Maine) registered the first double-double of her collegiate career with 11 points and 10 boards
- Junior Regan McFerran (Albany, N.Y.) turned in 11 points, eight caroms – including six on the offensive glass - and three steals
- Sophomore Emily Benway (Rochester, N.H.) chipped in with eight points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and a pair of assists
- Junior Brianne Maloney (South Portland, Maine) provided a spark off the bench with eight points and six caroms
LEADERS – ALBERTUS MAGNUS:
- Bolden was one rebound shy of a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds
- Sophomore Jill Johnson (North Haven, Conn.) netted 12 points with three steals and two assists
- Senior Liz Falcigno (Wallingford, Conn.) contributed seven points, nine rebounds, and three dimes
- Junior Kiki Epps (Norwalk, Conn.) added eight points, five caroms, three steals, and two assists
NOTEWORTHY:
Marks is the fourth SJC player to record a double-double through six games this season for the Monks, as she joins Benway, McFerran and Julia Champagne (Brunswick, Maine) on the list…the Falcons were 1-18 (5.6%) from three-point distance in today's contest.

Saint Joseph's is off until next Thursday when the team hosts in-state rival Bates College in a 5:30 PM start. Albertus Magnus hosts Pine Manor College Tuesday at 5:00 PM.
