Saint Joseph's Suffers GNAC Tri-Match Sweep

NEWTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (14-17, 6-6 GNAC) suffered a pair of losses in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) volleyball tri-match at Mount Ida College on Saturday afternoon. The Monks opened with a 3-1 (25-21, 17-25, 25-22, 25-18) loss at the hands of the host-Mustangs and later fell to #11 Johnson & Wales University (28-0, 11-0 GNAC), 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-13).

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Senior Jordynne Copp (Cumberland, Maine) recorded 13 kills on 21 attempts for a .571 hitting percentage with two total blocks
  • Sophomore Kelsey Bickford (Somersworth, N.H.) added nine kills, six digs, and a pair of block assists
  • Freshman Erin Olson (Stoughton, Mass.) posted seven kills and five total blocks
  • Freshman Sophia Randall (Epping, N.H.) contributed 27 assists and five digs
  • Junior Jennelle Thompson (Farmington, N.H.) notched 25 digs
  • Freshman Madison Provencher (Rochester, N.H.) produced three aces and six digs

LEADERS – MOUNT IDA:

  • Mary Kate Reidy posted a double-double with 16 kills and 19 digs and added four aces
  • Rachael Colombo registered 15 kills
  • Alexis Bell enjoyed a fine game with 48 assists and 15 digs

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Copp posted eight kills and three digs
  • Randall chipped in with 15 assists, two aces, and four digs
  • Thompson picked up 16 digs

LEADERS – JOHNSON & WALES:

  • Mary Coniglio tallied a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs
  • Kate Walker added nine digs in 16 attempts for a .562 attack rate
  • Brylee Frank dealt 35 assists

As the #6 seed, Saint Joseph's will compete in a GNAC Tournament Quarterfinal against #3 Rivier University in Nashua, N.H. Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
