BREWSTER, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College placed 20th with a 713 (362-351) team score in the 2023 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship hosted at The Captains Golf Course over the weekend.

Husson University claimed the team title with a 603 (298-305) card, five strokes ahead of Endicott College (308-300), for their first NEIGA crown since 2017. University of Hartford (609) posted the low round with a 296 effort on Sunday and placed third, Bates College (612) was fourth, and Roger Williams University placed fifth with a 613 card.

Individually, Ashton Lewis of Eastern Connecticut claimed Medalist honors with a 145 (+1) score while Colby Mitchell (Nichols), Sammy Johnson (Roger Williams), and Cade Charron (Husson) tied for second with a 147 card.

FOR THE MONKS:

• Junior Drew Mathieu (Windham, Maine) tied for 45th (160, 75-85)
• Freshman Caleb Campos (Port Charlotte, Fla.) placed 92nd (182, 97-85)
• Senior Matthew Burnham (Berwick, Maine) tied for 96th (187, 95-92)
• Junior Alex Beecher (South Portland, Maine) finished 100th (192, 103-89)
• Sophomore Bob Gerossie (Fremont, N.H.) was 101st (193, 95-98)

For Saint Joseph's, the NEIGA Championship brings an end to the 2023 season.
