MacCallum '10 (Hingham, MA) scored with just 17
seconds remaining in the second overtime period to lift Saint
Joseph's (2-2-1, 1-0 GNAC) over conference rival Johnson &
Wales (0-4, 0-1) 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
MacCallum's goal, his third of the season and
second game-winner of the 2009 campaign, came off a corner from
Tim Davison '12 (Danvers, MA) at
the 109:43 mark. Monks keeper Will
Pike '10 (Gorham, ME) made two saves to record his
second shutout of the year and 10 th of his career.
St. Joe's held a sizeable 37-13 advantage in shots, with
MacCallum posting 15 of those attempts. The Monks
also held a 12-7 edge in corners against the Wildcats.
JWU keeper Joe Ferraro '11 (Freehold, NJ) made 14 saves in the
losing effort.
St. Joe's will host non-conference opponent Husson University on
Sunday at noon while Johnson & Wales is set to host Wheaton
College at 3:30 PM on Wednesday.
